Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Director to lead our memory care program within our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, particularly in memory care settings, and possess exceptional skills in schedule management, event planning, and effective communication. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest quality of care for residents with memory impairments while fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the memory care unit, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of residents with memory challenges.
- Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and support for residents at all times.
- Plan and coordinate engaging activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation for residents.
- Collaborate with families to communicate resident progress and address any concerns regarding care.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in memory care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, compassion, and respect among staff and residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, incidents, and staff performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living or senior care settings, particularly with memory care populations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules effectively.
- Experience in event planning that enhances resident engagement and community involvement.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
