What are the responsibilities and job description for the D104 - Adult MH Crisis - Licensed Practical Nurse position at River Edge Behavioral Health?
River Edge is currently hiring nurses for jobs in our substance abuse recovery centers and mental health clinics.
Location/Schedule: Bibb County Recovery/Crisis Center
Shift - 36 hours-3-12 hour shifts 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm
Minimum Training & Experience: A Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed practical nurse.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience delivery of behavioral health services is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Cares for mental health/substance dependent/developmentally disabled persons.
Observes clients, charts, and reports changes in clients’ condition, and takes any necessary action.
Administers prescribed medications and noted times/amounts on clients’ charts.
Measures/records vital signs, key statistics (height/weight, etc)
Provide basic client care and treatment. Helps them with walking, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, moving in bed, and with standing and walking.
Supervises support staff.
Ensures safety and security of clients.
Provide a broad range of paraprofessional social services to patients/clients/consumers and their families, participates in treatment team planning, and performs crisis intervention.
Assist in dealing with personal and social problems. May provide supportive counseling to consumers and families and/or serve as a liaison for social services.
May perform case management duties, care for ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled persons.
Medication Med-Path
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
High school diploma or GED certification required.
Must complete/retain certifications in the following: CPR/FA/AED, CPI, Defensive Driving (if assigned), various safety trainings, Essential Learning courses as required, and any other courses or certifications that are assigned/required.
Knowledge of simple nursing care, first-aid, personal care, and hygiene basics.
Must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with clients, coworkers, and others.
Ability to observe/record deviations in patient’s conditions; to provide simple nursing care, personal care, and hygiene; to work as part of the care/treatment team; to make client assignments; to direct the work of unlicensed personnel.
