Summary
The Poker Room Supervisor oversees the operation and management of Poker games within the casino, ensuring smooth gameplay, adherence to gaming regulations, and superior guest service. This role requires a strong understanding of gaming procedures, leadership skills, and the ability to handle guest concerns while maintaining security and efficiency in the Poker Room.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all Poker games within the assigned area to ensure fair play and compliance with regulations.
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a calm and professional manner, ensuring satisfaction and adherence to procedures.
- Manage complimentary privileges within approved limits as per the casino’s Comp Matrix.
- Open and close Poker tables, verifying counts provided by dealers and inspecting card decks before play begins.
- Track and record player buy-ins, wins, losses, and betting amounts; complete rating cards for players.
- Monitor bets and payouts, making corrections as necessary, and ensure proper handling of table fills.
- Maintain the security of games, money, and personnel while being vigilant for any unusual or questionable activities.
- Monitor the volume and quality of business in the Poker Room, adjusting game spreads and table limits as appropriate.
- Provide guidance to dealers and team members, fostering a collaborative and guest-focused environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Poker games and dealing techniques required.
- Two years of employment as a dealer or table games supervisor within the last 10 years or six months of employment as a dealer at the Rivers Casino Pittsburgh
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on guest service and team relations.
- Knowledge of gaming rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends
- Ability to read and write simple correspondence.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with staff and guests.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow and enforce procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and guests
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends.
Certifications:
- Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License. Rivers Casino will assist in the application process and pays the fee associated with this license.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting
- Regular bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently
