Position Overview
Riverside Research's Applied Mathematics and Physics Solutions (AMPS) group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work alongside our Plasma Physics research staff and be involved in all aspects of our team's work from performing experiments to recording and analyzing experimental data. Our current research interests include plasma material interactions, electromagnetic properties of materials subjected to high temperatures, rf and microwave plasma source development, and electric propulsion for small satellites. This position will include work on independent research and development (IRAD) and U.S. government contracts.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to : rf, microwave, and optical test equipment.
- Set up, modify, and maintain vacuum systems and experimental apparatus's (training provided if necessary).
- Basic electrical circuit design for custom diagnostic tools.
- Operate various plasma sources and plasma diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and / or maintenance.
- Gather, maintain, and compile technical data.
- Create detailed documentation of experimental results and various investigations.
