This position is responsible for translating government system performance requirements into technical specifications and contractor statements of work and performs technical evaluations of contractor proposals for the purpose of verifying fulfillment of stated requirements/value. Additional responsibilities include: supervising off-site aircraft and ground system modification and maintenance actions; managing initial development and sustainment of installed avionics/airframe technical data; using Big Safari Product Support System (PSS) for various sustainment support functions such as Technical Assistance Requests (TAR) and Technical Data correction/improvement suggestions (AFTO Form 22); and monitoring/maintaining aircraft maintenance/sustainment plans to ensure compliance with FAA inspection requirements.
Responsibilities
• Provide aircraft modification, maintenance, logistics, and sustainment support services to US Air Force Program Management Office (PMO) and on-sight project managers. • Supply daily quality assurance of contractor efforts in maintenance/modification of special purpose aircraft governed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.• Validate milestone-based system performance verification testing against stated system performance parameters following programmed depot maintenance and modifications including developing, verifying and recommending approval of maintenance bulletins to add operational capability or resolve reliability/maintainability issues identified by operational users.• Participate in quarterly Service Action Review Boards for the review, evaluation, and recommended action of OEM Services Actions and Airworthiness Directives. • Analyze historical maintenance records and contractor provided failure analysis reports and provide inputs to PMO for recommendations to improve reliability and maintainability.• Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Top Secret/SCI security clearance required• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but Associate’s is required with emphasis in Aircraft Maintenance Technology• Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in flight operations, logistics, and acquisition with at least 5 years (each) of Big Safari acquisition, contract execution/management and maintenance/logistics experience• Current with Air Force maintenance/logistic support concepts and familiar with current FAA regulations• Previous participation in major weapon system upgrades of Air Force special mission aircraft required
