The Experience Coordinator at Westwood is responsible for ensuring that all residents and their families have a positive and enriching experience during their stay. The role focuses on creating a welcoming environment, coordinating resident activities, and managing the Experience Associate staff. The Experience Coordinator serves as a liaison between residents, families, and staff to ensure that the needs and preferences of all are met and exceeded. This position is crucial in maintaining high resident satisfaction and promoting a vibrant community atmosphere.
Essential Duties
- Plan, develop, and implement activity programs: Create daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs for residents, including social, recreational, educational, and wellness activities.
- Coordinate large social events: Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure the successful execution of large-scale events, providing meaningful programs and personalized experiences.
- Develop the Monthly Calendar of Events: Plan and distribute a calendar that includes spiritual opportunities, programs, and activities that align with residents' interests.
- Create multimedia communications: Develop and distribute multi-media content, to keep residents informed of upcoming events and programs.
- Budget management: Manage overall department budget, ensuring prudent use of supplies, equipment, and personnel.
- Utilize technology for resident engagement: Integrate IN2L (It’s Never 2 Late) technology to enhance resident experiences and provide individual web pages while offering ongoing training and support for residents, employees, and families.
- Decorate common areas: Seasonally decorate facility common areas to create an inviting atmosphere for residents and guests.
- Coordinate transportation: Oversee transportation logistics for resident outings and events, working closely with Bus Drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Team management: Assist with leading the Experience Team and help to train new team members, ensuring the lifestyle needs of seniors are met and the team delivers high standards of performance.
Non-essential Duties
- Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones and providing tours to prospective residents and their families.
- Provide support to other departments during special events or high-traffic periods.

Required Experience
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

Preferred Experience

Required Licensure/Education
- Required Education and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. The ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and in accordance with all traffic laws is essential.
Preferred Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- Certified Dementia Practitioner is preferred.
