Job Summary:As an Irrigation Technician 1, you will have the unique opportunity to shadow and work alongside an experienced irrigation technician, gaining hands-on experience in the field. You will play a vital role in assisting with irrigation system installations, repairs, and troubleshooting measures. This entry-level position offers a comprehensive learning experience in the world of irrigation systems and provides a foundation for advancing within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn Troubleshooting Techniques and Procedures:

• Shadow the experienced technician to understand common irrigation system issues.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with irrigation systems.
• Gain knowledge of various tools and equipment used in troubleshooting.

Learn Basic Repair Skills:

• Work alongside the team to assist in repairing irrigation system components.
• Acquire fundamental skills in repairing valves, pipes, sprinkler heads, and other system components.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during repair tasks.

Learn Basic Installation Skills:

• Participate in irrigation system installations, including digging trenches, laying pipes, and setting up sprinkler systems.
• Assist in assembling and installing irrigation system components.
• Learn proper installation techniques to ensure efficient and effective systems.

Study for Your Backflow Certification:

• Dedicate time to study and prepare for the backflow certification exam.
• Attend training sessions and courses to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for certification.
• Maintain a strong commitment to achieving backflow certification within the specified timeframe.

Assist in Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including tasks completed, materials used, and hours worked.
• Assist in creating reports and documentation related to system installations and repairs.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety guidelines and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when working in the field.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate effectively with the experienced irrigation technician and the broader team.
• Seek guidance and ask questions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
• Assist team members as needed to complete tasks efficiently.

The right candidate has:

• Clean criminal record
• Clean and Valid driver’s license, CDL a plus
• Experience on a landscape, maintenance, irrigation, or chemical application crew

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
