Housing Case Manager
Job Summary
The Housing Case Manager at Roadway provides direct support to individuals experiencing housing instability, homelessness, or at risk of institutionalization. This role involves assisting clients in securing and maintaining stable housing, coordinating supportive services, and ensuring compliance with Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) guidelines. The Housing Case Manager serves as an advocate for clients, connecting them to vital resources, developing individualized housing plans, and fostering long-term housing success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client Support & Housing Assistance
- Conduct intake assessments to determine client eligibility and housing needs.
- Develop individualized housing support and crisis plans based on client goals.
- Assist clients in searching for housing, completing rental applications, and understanding lease agreements.
- Provide education on tenant rights, responsibilities, and financial management.
- Support clients in securing rental assistance, deposits, and utility setup.
- Advocate for clients with landlords and property managers to address housing barriers.
Case Management & Support Services
- Provide ongoing case management and regular check-ins with clients to ensure housing stability.
- Help clients access healthcare, mental health services, employment programs, and other community resources.
- Mediate landlord-tenant disputes to prevent eviction and resolve conflicts.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies when clients face housing instability.
- Maintain a caseload of clients and deliver person-centered services tailored to individual needs.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Coordinate with social workers, community organizations, and government agencies to provide comprehensive support.
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation of client interactions, service plans, and progress.
- Ensure compliance with all DHS Housing Stabilization Services policies and regulations.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords, housing authorities, and local organizations to expand housing opportunities.
- Stay informed on housing policies, tenant rights, and available financial assistance programs.
- Advocate for housing rights and policies that benefit individuals facing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Prior experience in case management, housing services, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of housing resources, fair housing laws, and tenant rights.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in using case management software and documentation tools.
- Certifications:
- Must complete DHS Housing Stabilization Services training within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation preferred.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Regular travel within the community to meet clients, conduct home visits, and attend housing appointments.
- Hybrid work environment with a mix of in-office, field, and remote support options.
- Flexible scheduling may be required, including occasional evening or weekend meetings based on client needs.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
