We are looking for a Human Resources/Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of HR practices and assist with safety. What is an HR Manager to us? The HR safety Manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues company wide and sits on the safety committee. This means that the HR side of the duties will involve activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, development, and talent management. On the safety side, it will involve record keeping, researching safety issues, assisting with safety training, etc. People are our most important asset and you'll be the one to ensure we have a happy, informed, safe, and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of a complete HR/Safety Manager’s job.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business strategy.
- Serve on the safety committee and assist in all aspects of safety.
- Execute and manage the recruitment process company wide.
- Outline employee development.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing issues at all levels of the organization.
- Support current and future business needs through the development.
- Ensure compliance, regulation, and diversity initiatives within the organization.
- Oversee and manage performance appraisal system.
- Maintain benefits programs.
- Assess training needs and monitor all training programs.
- Provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Knowledge and application of union contracts and working with a union.
- People oriented with excellent listening, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills using multiple systems including custom and off-the-shelf packages.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as HR manager, or another HR executive, for 3-5 years.
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and database use.
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Degree in Human Resources, Safety or related field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
