Title: Receptionist
Reports To: Office Manager
Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center (RVSHC) is a nonprofit speech and hearing center dedicated to helping individuals in the Roanoke Valley. For 63 years our mission remains to improve quality of life by helping children and adults communicate effectively.
Description: As a Receptionist at RVSHC, you’ll be working towards making a stellar first impression to each client who interacts with our center. Responsibilities include greeting clients in-person and over the phone, scheduling appointments, making copies, sending faxes and assisting the rest of the team in ensuring a smooth work flow throughout the office. Professional composure must be maintained throughout all interactions.
Hours: Center hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm; Fridays from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Salary Range: $15-$17 per hour, depending on education and experience

Knowledge and Skills required:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to present a professional attitude and appearance
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, throughout the day, as required
- Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of office procedures and equipment
- Multitasking ad time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Specific duties include (but not limited to):
- Ensuring the front desk welcomes guests in a positive and professional matter
- Executes all tasks to the highest standards
- Serves as the initial contact for customers and clients, exhibiting excellent customer service skills
- Assists the Speech Department in sending faxes, filing and making copies, as needed. Assists the Hearing Department in sending faxes, filing and making copies, as needed
All candidates are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or submit paperwork for a qualifying medical or religious exemption within 2 days of hire.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
