Job Description: We are seeking an HR Legal Administrator to support our HR and legal teams in managing employee documentation, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and addressing legal matters related to our workforce. In this role, you will help us navigate the complexities of employment law in the construction and roofing industry, support the HR team with day-to-day operations, and ensure all company policies align with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records, including employment contracts, certifications, safety compliance documentation, and legal paperwork.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with construction industry-specific labor laws, such as OSHA regulations, wage and hour laws, and workers’ compensation.
- Support the legal department by preparing documents and materials for employment-related legal matters, including disputes and claims.
- Work with HR to ensure compliance with employment eligibility verification (e.g., I-9 forms) and other necessary documentation.
- Review, create, and update company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist in handling employee grievances, disputes, and investigations, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Support the onboarding process, ensuring that new hires complete all necessary legal documentation and training.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws, safety regulations, and industry standards affecting the roofing business.
- Coordinate and track certifications and licenses required for employees in the roofing industry (e.g., safety certifications, contractor licenses).
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and workplace injury documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team and legal department as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR or legal administration, preferably within the construction or roofing industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing legal documentation.
- HR certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
