What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at Robert Alexander Center For Recovery?
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing and developing all clinical services and supervising all clinical staff. The Clinical Director will report to the Chief Clinical Officer. The Clinical Director maintains effective communication with all departments to ensure clients smooth entry and discharge from the clinical program. These departments include but are not limited to Outreach, Admissions, Medical, Utilization Review and Human Resources. The Clinical Director monitors documentation by the clinical staff in order to ensure that documentation is timely, accurate, and complete.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology
2. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years in the field of substance abuse and 2 years in a managerial role
3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Master’s level licensure: i.e. LCSW or LPCC required
4. KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:
Proven experience as clinical director or other managerial position
Experience in clinical supervision and program management
Solid understanding of budgeting, resourcing and performance evaluation procedures
Excellent knowledge of standards and regulations for the clinical field
Proficient in EMR and computer systems (e.g. patient management software)
Excellent communication and people skills
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
Aptitude in resolving issues and conflict

- Devise strategies and plans for the clinical department according to company standards for excellent service and growth
- Assume responsibility for budgeting and resourcing
- Plan and oversee all patient care or clinical operations and programs
- Recruit employees to ensure the department is staffed with qualified personnel
- Assign cases and create schedules for all employees
- Coordinate and supervise staff providing constructive feedback
- Provide personnel with clinical training and opportunities for continuous development
- Evaluate performance and discipline employees when necessary
- Monitor compliance to legal guidelines, internal policies and quality standards
