We are seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant to join our team based in Madison, Alabama. In this role, you will be accountable for a variety of tasks related to accounts receivable and licensing processes. This position also offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
- Apply and post payments to customer accounts
- Monitor customer accounts and execute the necessary actions
- Act as a liaison in the licensing process involving city, county, contractors, and businesses
- Reconcile discrepancies in accounts and apply payments and credits where necessary
- Perform light General Ledger postings and journal entries
- Utilize accounting software Dynamics AX
- Minimal vendor contact, primarily focused on internal operations
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must for efficient workflow management.
- Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required for systematic and integrated management of business processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary to ensure accurate financial management.
- Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential to manage payments and reduce delinquency.
- Knowledge of Auditing techniques is necessary to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Understanding of Licensing procedures and regulations in the environmental sector is a plus.
- Experience with Dynamics AX is desirable but not required
- Ability to prepare Journal Entries to ensure accurate record keeping.
- Knowledge of General Ledger processes is required for maintaining financial records and transactions.
