The ideal candidate will bring expertise in nonprofit accounting and a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.Responsibilities:• Lead and manage the accounting department, providing guidance and supervision to team members.• Oversee financial operations, including general ledger management, cash flow monitoring, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.• Conduct monthly reconciliations, such as bank statements and grant accounts, to ensure accuracy.• Execute month-end closing procedures, prepare detailed financial reports, and present findings to the board of directors and leadership team.• Ensure compliance with grant and contract fiscal reporting requirements by collaborating across departments.• Plan and coordinate annual audits, ensuring all processes are completed efficiently and accurately.• Prepare and submit required tax returns while adhering to applicable regulations.• Develop and implement effective fiscal policies to support organizational goals.• Monitor federal grant award management regulations and ensure adherence to funding agency requirements.• Address additional tasks as assigned to support the organization’s financial health and mission.
