We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk in Mercer, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the invoicing, payment processing, and customer account maintenance to ensure accurate financial records. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate with customers and collaborate with the accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices and payments accurately to maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records.
- Communicate regularly with customers to address payment-related inquiries and ensure timely collections.
- Prepare and present weekly status reports on accounts receivable to the Accounting Manager.
- Handle the setup and maintenance of new customer accounts, including performing credit checks.
- Apply late fee charges on overdue accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and update customers’ tax-exempt documentation to ensure compliance.
- Support office-related administrative tasks as needed.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in collaboration with the Accounting Manager.
- Assist with additional assignments or projects as directed by the Accounting Manager
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, including invoicing and payment processing.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation and cash applications.
- Experience with cash and commercial collections processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to analyze and resolve accounting issues effectively.
- Familiarity with tax-exempt forms and related compliance processes.
