Bookkeeper

Salary: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly

Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Philo, California. This is a remote position, but the first month of training will need to be onsite in Philo, CA. The position will primarily involve maintaining the financial records of our organization, with a focus on account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Handle account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify our financial records
• Be responsible for data entry tasks related to bookkeeping
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks and reporting
• Assist in the month-end close process
• Handle the collation of hours and timecards for payroll reporting
• Gain proficiency in the use of Sage software, with a future transition to QuickBooks
• Be involved in the processing and batching of donation receipts
• Participate in the preparation for upcoming events and fundraising activities.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), including processing invoices, making payments, and maintaining records
• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR), including issuing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
• Strong proficiency in Bookkeeping, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions
• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks quickly and accurately
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas, create spreadsheets and charts, and analyze data
• Experience in Month End Close procedures, ensuring all financial data is recorded and reconciled for the monthly financial close
• Proficiency in Payroll, including processing paychecks, calculating overtime, and handling tax deductions
• Experience in using QuickBooks for a variety of financial tasks, including invoicing, tracking expenses, and generating reports.
