Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team based in East Hartford, Connecticut. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for processing medical billing, working on denials, dealing with insurance companies and handling outstanding accounts. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and customer service.Responsibilities: • Handle medical billing procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.• Work on denials, interacting with insurance companies to resolve issues.• Manage outstanding accounts, reviewing numbers and taking appropriate action.• Determine when to send a correct claim versus an appeal, based on the situation.• Utilize various software systems, such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces for billing and information retrieval.• Ensure adherence to billing functions and claim administration guidelines.• Utilize strong Accounts Receivable (AR) experience to manage and update customer records.• Handle appeals and benefit functions as per the organizational standards.• Ensure smooth operation of financial processes and customer service.• Adapt to the flexible work hours and hybrid workplace setting, demonstrating the ability to work independently.
