What are the responsibilities and job description for the BILLING SPECIALIST position at The Bridge Family Center?
The Bridge Family Center is seeking a Billing Specialist to provide general billing and insurance oversight for its Outpatient Mental Health clinics. This position will also oversee credentialing for its licensed therapists.

This is a full time position and is in-person in the West Hartford clinic location, with the possibility of including the brand new Farmington location in the future. Remote candidates will not be considered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify insurance eligibility and authorizations
- Enter insurance information into InSync EHR system as needed
- Work with insurance companies and EDS on billing issues
- Work with clinic staff to ensure proper credentialing
- Work on client accounts to establish proper billing procedures and post payments
- Greet clients entering the building
- Make sure office is running efficiently (ordering supplies, physical plant, etc.)
- Complete new client intakes as needed
- Schedule client appointments as needed
- Accept and record client payments (copays, self pays, payment plans)
- Enter EOB information into InSync
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience with medical billing. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Experience in the mental health billing field and nonprofit experience highly desirable. Experience using electronic health records a must.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office software.
