Job Summary: As the Automotive Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring that all services are completed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining high customer satisfaction. You will lead a team of automotive technicians, service advisors, and support staff to deliver top-notch service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
- Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, service advisors, and support staff.
- Ensure the efficient and accurate completion of all service orders, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns, providing estimates, and keeping them informed throughout the repair process.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase service department efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the service department.
- Maintain accurate records of all service work, inventory, and customer communications.
- Monitor performance metrics, track goals, and generate reports for management.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Ensure the proper training and development of all team members.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an automotive service management or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance processes.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to use automotive service software and other related tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certifications or degrees are a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with dealership or independent service center operations.
- ASE certifications or other relevant automotive certifications.
