Position Summary:
We are seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Balancer at our Salt Lake City, UT location who will provide excellent support to our production team. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative team member with a friendly demeanor and determined work ethic. We need an exceptionally well-organized teammate who effectively plans and performs the balancing of all types and sizes of industrial wheels for our large wheel department.
Responsibilities:
- Receives job assignments and instructions from the Group Leader for balancing all types and sizes of industrial wheels.
- Obtains and maintains a Level II certification for dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection levels. *Robinson Fans Inc. will provide employees with the necessary training and testing to obtain the certification.
- Uses overhead crane or jib hoist to move and position wheels in the balancing machines
- Mounts shaft and wheel into machine, installs drive unit, clamps, etc.
- Operates balancing machine at various speeds and uses static and dynamic tests to determine imbalance, faulty quality and improper operation of wheel
- Takes reading from machine to determine location of weights to be added. Add weights by tacking and reruns tests.
- Either the Balancer or a Welder will weld permanent weights in place, as instructed
- Uses chipping hammer and/or grinder to remove flux and spatter
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Experience with micrometers strongly preferred
- Able to use all balancing units, welding units, power tools, magnetic particle, dye penetrant units, and overhead cranes
- Mechanically Inclined
- Must take the initiative and be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Must be able to pass a respirator clearance exam
