Job Summary:
The Membership Marketing Specialist is responsible for overseeing the coordination of specific components related to membership marketing campaigns (acquisition, fundraising, renewal and upgrades). Primary responsibilities include, managing the end-to-end implementation of acquisition, retention, and fundraising campaigns; developing and reviewing creative elements; analyzing campaign performance; and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role will also coordinate prize fulfillment for direct response marketing sweepstakes and other campaigns, maintain an annual marketing calendar, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver impactful and cost-effective campaigns.

Essential Functions
- Assist with implementation of direct marketing projects, as determined by supervisor, including, but not limited to, direct mail, email, advertising, trade shows and promotions.
- Conduct drawings for winners of direct response marketing sweepstakes campaigns and other department prize drawings. Facilitate prize fulfillment and provide customer service to respective parties.
- Work with supervisor to plan all elements of direct marketing programs including data needs, budget, timeliness, strategy, outline, themes, copy, artwork, list usage, testing and fulfillment processes.
- Help develop campaign creative elements and review proofs for direct marketing campaigns as assigned by supervisor.
- Work with supervisor to develop creative elements for campaign online landing pages. Assemble all cost profiles, campaign reports, premium setup for all online initiatives. Monitor online pages for issues and areas of improvement.
- Work with supervisor in reviewing monthly responsibility reports. Ensure monthly expenses and revenue are hitting correct cost centers and analyzing unknown costs.
- Create and maintain membership team annual marketing calendar. Attend weekly department meeting and communicate deadlines among team.
- Stay current on postal regulations, industry trends and competitor activity. Help identify new and cost-effective opportunities for membership promotions.
- Work with Bugle team and field staff to obtain and renew postal permits.
- Coordinate with the Creative Services department on in-house production of creative pieces.
- Assist with development of online donation and/or premium packages.
- Assist with proofing direct mail materials throughout various production stages, including initial proofs, plate proofs, variable data and insertion proofs. Help ensure accuracy of print specifications through Creative Service job requests, printer quotes and proofs.
- Create and maintain Inventory reports for the department.
- Provide campaign forecasts for response rates, fulfillment schedules and budgets.
- Provide monthly cost reports and other reports, as requested, to the Accounting department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
- One or two years of experience working with relational databases and marketing analytics is preferred. Experience in a membership organization is a plus.
- Knowledge and support of the RMEF’s mission, goals, and activities. Must have a strong conservation ethic.
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate understanding of budget management.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to evaluate campaign performance and recommend improvements.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, and familiarity with CRM and relational database systems.
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly articulate strategies and campaign results to diverse audiences.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and flexible approach to adapting to changing priorities.
- Preferred: Experience in digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads) and familiarity with email marketing tools.
