Benefits & Payroll Administrator

Job Summary : The Benefits & Payroll Administrator will be responsible for preparing payroll, administering the full suite of RMPM's benefits program including health benefits, soft benefits, workers' compensation, and leaves of absence, maintaining accurate employee records, HRIS reporting, and overseeing unemployment claims. This role requires attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple tasks on deadlines. It is critical to the operations of the organization and HR team, so we are looking for someone who enjoys doing this type of work and can stay organized along the way.

Key Responsibilities :

Benefits Administration :

o Administer and manage health benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, telehealth, voluntary benefits, and COBRA, ensuring timely enrollment and cancellation of participants.

o Lead benefits portion of new employee orientations

o Complete the annual open enrollment process, ensuring smooth communication and guidance to employees, and accurate / timely data sharing with brokers and carriers.

o Administer and manage RMPM's 403(b) retirement program.

o Assist with annual 403(b) audit.

o Administer Colorado's Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program, ensuring employee participation and accurate claims processing.

o Manage the company's soft benefits program (e.g., employee reimbursement programs and transportation program).

o Submit monthly invoices of benefit vendors and carriers to A / P for payment processing

o Submit and track Workers' Compensation claims to carrier.

Payroll

o Assists payroll processer with timecard submissions and review.

o Reviews and approves each payroll for processing.

o Runs payroll reports.

o Assist with annual payroll audit.

o Submits personnel action forms to payroll processor.

o Updates and posts payroll and holiday calendar.

o Assists employees with payroll related questions.

o Manages registration and maintenance of employer accounts for out-of-state hires.

Employee Records and Personnel Files :

o Maintains employee records in the Human Resource database and physical personnel files; tracks, documents, and manages all required personnel information (e.g. Form I-9, professional licenses, identification documents, etc.); ensures accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

o Assist with HR audits, ensuring employee data is up to date and organized.

HRIS Reporting :

o Run and generate reports from the HRIS system related to payroll, benefits, and employee data.

Unemployment Claims :

o Oversee and manage unemployment claims, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documents and responses to claims.

o Collaborate with the HR team to ensure proper documentation and reporting for unemployment claims.

Required Qualifications :

2-4 years of related HR experience required.

Strong HRIS experience required.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and benefits administration.

Familiarity with Colorado's FAMLI Leave program and other state-specific leave regulations.

Working understanding of HR best practices in functional areas such as employment law, regulatory compliance, FLSA, and more.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and absolute confidentiality.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees and external vendors.

Demonstrated awareness of global and cultural issues; ability to understand multiple cultural and community perspectives. Utilizes these perspectives to ensure all staff feel valued, and inclusive and equitable practices are embedded in the organizational culture at large.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Office environment, Radio on-air Studio environment, audio production suites, etc.

The position requires the ability to lift and carry production equipment up to 50 lbs.
