JOB GOAL |
Responsible for assisting the principal in providing the instructional and administrative leadership necessary for addressing student achievement and overall school effectiveness. |
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of exemplary teaching experience.
- Thorough knowledge of curriculum, district policies, and procedures.
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the development and implementation of the master schedule and student schedules.
- Analyze and assess past school performance to plan for new programs.
- Assist with the evaluation of instructional staff.
- Implement and review data related to common assessments, such as district assessments.
- Remain abreast of current curriculum trends, instructional strategies, practices, developments, instructional materials, and related governmental procedures and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with parents, school, and community committees on all school-related matters.
- Assist in the selection of school personnel.
- Coordinate with district personnel, parents, and staff planning for an orderly school opening.
- Plan activities for Staff Development.
- Develop and implement teacher orientations.
- Participate in workshops, in-services, and other administrative staff development activities.
- Planned, coordinated, and followed up on school academic teams/competitions.
- Lesson plans, Curriculum/scope, and sequence follow-up.
- Oversee PBLs and other projects.
- Coordinate academic software programs.
- Coordinate school Concurrent credit and Advanced Placement programs.
- Meet mentor Dean of Academics regularly (if new to the position)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
