About the Role:
As the Director of Pricing and Packaging at ROLLER, you will play a key role in shaping our monetization strategy to drive revenue growth across all our products. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive pricing strategies, managing pricing operations, and structuring deals to maximize profitability. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead cross-functional teams, conduct in-depth market research, and deliver innovative pricing models that align with our business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Develop and Execute Pricing Strategies: Design and implement effective pricing and packaging strategies that align with ROLLER's overall business goals. Continuously refine these strategies to ensure competitiveness and alignment with market conditions.
- Market Research and Analysis: Partner with the product and product marketing teams to conduct thorough market research, including competitive analysis and customer insights, to inform pricing decisions and understand buyer behavior.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and finance teams to gather insights and drive data-informed pricing decisions. Establish strong partnerships to ensure cohesive implementation of pricing strategies.
- Pricing Models and Tools: Create and maintain sophisticated pricing models and tools to support data-driven decision-making. Use these models to forecast revenue, analyze pricing performance, and make recommendations for adjustments.
- Pricing Operations and Deal Structuring: Lead the operationalization of pricing strategies, including developing SKUs, order forms, legal agreements, billing methodologies, and provisioning. Work with the sales team to develop deal structures, discounting policies, and playbooks for large and complex opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor pricing strategies to continuously enhance ROLLER's pricing approaches. Regularly monitor pricing performance and make data-driven adjustments to meet business objectives.
- Leadership and Influence: Guide and develop cross-functional teams to enhance product discovery, decision-making, and accountability. Foster a collaborative environment to achieve alignment on pricing and packaging priorities.
- Innovation and Strategy: Evaluate and implement new business models to expand market reach, increase sales volume, and boost customer retention. Drive initiatives for new product introductions, enterprise risk management, and product deprecation as needed.
What we look for:
- Extensive Experience: 15 years in product management, strategic planning, or management consulting, with a focus on software pricing and packaging.
- Domain Expertise: At least 7 years of experience in pricing and packaging, specifically within the software industry.
- Leadership Skills: 6 years of direct people management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, finance, or a related technical field. An MBA is highly desirable.
- Communication and Influence: Strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proven capability to influence decision-making at the business unit level.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen ability to solve complex problems and think strategically.
