SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant is one of many essential roles at our Casino. As part of the Human Resources team, your duty will be to help your fellow employees with any general inquiries regarding their employment. As the first point of contact for many of them, you will set the tone for their experience. In this role you'll be given opportunities to learn about all there is in Human Resources. ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Assists with entering personnel information into the HRIS database and supports keeping the database accurate and current
- Processes and files all employment eligibility documents
- Processes all terminations, transfers, employment verification requests, communication with former employee and notification to RHC departments and the Tribal Gaming Commission as needed
- Maintains Human Resources Department office supply and inventory
- Maintains Human Resources Department purchase orders
- Works in collaboration with Tribal Govt HR and Cage to maintain employee database for discount programs
- Distributes office and interdepartmental correspondence
- Assists recruiting initiatives through new hire screening and appointment coordination
- Assists the Training Coordinator in preparing Orientation and other training materials
- Assists the Benefits Administrator in billing, and processing EDD paperwork
- Coordinates appointments for HR staff members
- Assists with planning and executing company wide HR events, job fairs, blood drives, and workshops
- Maintains personnel files
- Maintains basic knowledge of employment laws
- Maintains complete confidentiality of all Rolling Hills Casino information
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer services ability
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of one year previous experience in human resources, office management, or similar role required. Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Tribal Gaming Commission.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend analyze, and interpret general business correspondence and reports. Ability to write reports, memos and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be fluent with the ability to read, write, and speak English, bilingual in Spanish preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral or written form.
