GOLF OUTSIDE SERVICES
POSITION: GOLF OUTSIDE SERVICES
CATEGORY: NON-EXEMPT
SUMMARY: The Golf Outside Services position provides optimal customer service to Members and Guests. They will attempt to anticipate and fulfill every customer’s need in a variety of responsibilities as assigned, which may include work in the Cart Barn, at Bag Drop, or in Practice Facilities.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bag Room:
- Ensure all bags have perfectly cleaned clubs before being stored. Ensure cleanliness of all clubs as they come off the golf course, practice facility, etc.
- Continually update and arrange the bags in storage according to a program set forth by the golf professional staff. This program allows for maximum efficiency and easy retrieval of golf bags.
- Responsible for anticipating the arrival of members/guests, and having their clubs properly staged.
Cart Storage:
- Keep the golf cart fleet clean and detailed at all times.
- Ensure that no cart is staged unless it is fully stocked with waters, ice, tees, new scorecard, new pencil, towels, hole location sheet, sand bottles, and other amenities to be determined by the golf professional staff.
- Responsible for each cart being fully cleaned and charged after each day of play, along with being restocked with all amenities.
- Keep the cart storage areas in clean and organized condition at all times. Responsible for sweeping out these areas daily and power-washing them on a weekly basis.
Cart Staging:
- Provide great service before and after the members’ golf round to ensure an exceptional experience.
- Responsible for greeting groups as they arrive to answer any questions they may have, as well as when they come off the golf course.
- Responsible for communicating with members and guests after completion of play on what their intentions will be and relaying that information via radio to the other outlets.
Practice Facilities:
- Responsible for properly setting up the driving range and short game practice facilities daily.
- Responsible for tending to the practice facilities throughout the day, making sure all practice areas are stocked with balls and other amenities as needed.
- Responsible for clearing all practice facilities at the end of the day, washing the practice balls, and bringing in all items for safekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned and as outlined in the Golf Facility Operation Guidelines.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must possess excellent people skills, be able to handle members/guests in a friendly and courteous manner, and have the ability to de-escalate unpleasant, angry, or discourteous situations with utmost diplomacy.
- Ability to work with others in a group or team environment.
- Be efficient, energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, well organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to safely drive a golf cart.
- Ability to work all shifts – days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
EXPERIENCE:
- Golf experience or knowledge of the game preferred
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Valid Worker’s Permit required (if under 18 years of age)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or carry items up to 25 lbs., or occasionally up to 50 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors, in many weather conditions
- Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers, with or without the use of two-way radios
- Visually inspect all work areas, golf course, and grounds
