Position Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising the A/P staff
- Oversee the processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.
- Develop, implement, and monitor AP procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Assists in the completion of special projects as warranted.
- Completes other duties as needed and assigned.
- Act as liaison between corporate and branch locations regarding accounts payable.
- Obtain approval for payments, generate AP & refund checks, and obtain necessary signatures.
- Prepare AP-related reports, metrics, and analyses for management as needed.
- Required: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounts payable role
- Required: Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position
- Required: Previous experience and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have good communication skills, be professional, personable, and mature
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with Timberline, SAGE or CMic a plus
