Family Services Specialist
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle, Durham House
Reports to: Family Services Manager
Classification: Part Time, 1-3 shifts/week with the option to fill in additional shifts as needed
Schedule: Wednesday 4pm-11pm, Thursday 4pm-11pm, and/or Friday 4pm-12am
Starting Salary: $15/hour
Mission Statement
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle provides a “home-away-from-home” and a community of support for the families of seriously ill and injured children.
Position Description
The Family Services team provides direct support to families staying at the House. They check in and orient new families, connect current guests with available resources, and generally make themselves available to guests, donors, volunteers, and fellow employees to support the mission of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle and work in accordance with the Commitment to Excellence.
2. Understand and implement Family Services policies & procedures, including check ins, check outs, and all emergency plans.
3. Maintain careful records in the Guest Database and complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently, according to House procedures.
4. Cultivate an atmosphere of healing and safety for all guests by providing prompt and respectful guest service, maintaining facilities in a clean and working order, offering a listening ear as needed, and issuing reminders of appropriate guest behavior when necessary.
5. Provide support at the front desk as needed, including welcoming visitors, answering the phone, and assisting guest families.
6. Offer support to volunteers, including answering questions as needed.
7. Greet and thank donors, receive donations, and ensure that donations are stored and documented in the appropriate places.
8. Ensure that all volunteers, donors, and guest families have a meaningful experience while at Ronald McDonald House, consistently representing the House in a positive light.

Education and Professional Experience
- H.S. diploma required.
- Strong computers skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and database programs.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Spanish speaking ability preferred.
