Position Summary
The Safety and Facilities Operations Specialist combines facilities maintenance and campus safety roles, ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical and electrical systems while maintaining safety and security for all occupants and visitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilities Support:
- Monitor mechanical equipment, control gauges, fire panels, and BAS alarms.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and painting.
- Assist with apartment turnovers.
Campus Safety Support:
- Oversee security systems such as CCTV, fire panels, and access controls.
- Conduct security patrols and address hazardous or suspicious conditions.
- Manage key control systems.
- Provide security services at events and respond to emergencies.
Emergency Response:
- Swiftly handle emergencies (e.g., fire, equipment failure) while ensuring safety and operation.
- Act independently in emergency situations.
Conditions of Employment

Required Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean record.
- 5 years of residential and/or commercial maintenance experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Effective communication skills.
- Physical capability to lift 75 lbs. and perform security tours.
- Ability to read blueprints to determine materials required for projects.
- Knowledge of security systems and emergency protocols.
- Experience and knowledge of residential mechanical systems
- Flexible scheduling availability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education combining security and maintenance.
- 20 hours of security training or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of automated building systems and Microsoft Office.
