Job summary:
The Center Director of Roselyn North Academy will manage the day-to-day operations of the center. The Director oversees coordination of our Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-K, and School Aged Programs and must comply with the State of Maine Family Childcare Licensing Regulations. Directly accountable for operational aspect of the center including managing day to day operations, establishing, and sustaining a positive learning environment.
The successful applicant will have experience in managing all aspects of a childcare center as well as strong leadership skills. You should display a friendly manner, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children, families, and teachers.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Consistently executes plans that ensure the company’s mission of serving families and children, in alignment with company values.
- Actively leads teaching staff to effectively accomplish center targets, objectives, and goals.
- Models and imbeds company mission and values into all operations
- Ensures orientation and training is received by teachers and/or others and equips employees with job-critical knowledge and education.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate personnel.
- Partners with owners to create and implement plans and strategies that result in increased enrollment.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Ensures our school is in compliance with all State licensing regulations which includes student and employee files, program quality and compliance, safety compliance, etc. Maintains a good relationship with licensing partners.
- Responsible for enrollment of students and maintaining monthly schedule of enrollment for the next rolling 12 months.
- Provide family support and helps with any issues or concerns they may have.
- Provide student support by setting up CDS evaluations, participate in IEP meetings, ensure we are conducting assessments and keeping accurate and up to date portfolios.
- Provide staff support through formal and informal check-in meetings, staff meetings, completing evaluations, training and development, performance plans, and disciplinary action if needed.
- Review annual curriculum executed by the Program Coordinator and ensure it encompasses Roselyn North Academy mission and philosophy as well as meets Maine’s early learning guidelines.
- Confirms and schedules family tours for the Westbrook location.
- Ensures the phones are answered and responds to voice and email messages.
- Scheduling and conducting interviews and makes decisions about who joins our team.
- Handles all time off requests and provides a weekly staff schedule
- Reviews time cards and ensures accuracy each pay period, makes adjustments when necessary
· Family communication through monthly eNews letters, bulletin boards, written letters, etc.
· Ensures entire school environment is clean and organized at all times.
· Ensures Procare, and other systems are updated frequently
· Takes initiative to keep our programs relevant and successful
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, Child Development, or related field preferred
- 3 years managerial experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills and a deep commitment to provide the right leadership to our educators in our centers is a must.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills – must be computer literate at a general business-level (Microsoft Word, Excel and emailing)
- Ability to sustain a high level of energy
- Ability to excel in an ambiguous and continuously changing environment
- Ability to thrive under frequent pressure
- Current First-Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
