Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, with a focus on providing excellent support to our dental team. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic and delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations and treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize 3D scanning systems for accurate imaging and diagnostics.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment notes, using Epic or similar systems.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, demonstrating patience and understanding towards young patients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dental practices is essential.
- Familiarity with anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures is required.
- Experience with X-Ray technology and safety practices is necessary.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is critical.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing compassionate patient care.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients of all ages effectively.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
