Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the transportation and distribution of goods. They work closely with carriers, clients, and suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of products. The role involves coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, tracking deliveries, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Coordination:
- Organize the transportation of goods, ensuring that shipments are scheduled and completed on time.
- Communicate with clients, suppliers, and transportation carriers to confirm shipping details and timelines.
- Track shipments from start to finish, providing updates to clients and addressing any delays or issues.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and review all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork (for international shipments).
- Ensure all shipments comply with regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and customs laws.
- Inventory Management:
- Coordinate inventory levels and ensure that products are shipped in accordance with demand.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and stock levels.
- Problem Solving:
- Address and resolve any logistical problems that arise, such as delays, damage to goods, or discrepancies in shipping documentation.
- Work with vendors and clients to find solutions and maintain smooth operations.
- Vendor and Carrier Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers
- Negotiate rates with carriers and manage contracts to ensure cost efficiency.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor and manage the costs associated with transportation, seeking ways to optimize routes and reduce expenses.
- Assist in budget planning and reporting for logistics-related expenses.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, providing delivery updates, and resolving any shipping issues.
- Ensure client satisfaction by managing timelines and ensuring goods arrive in good condition.
- Reporting and Analytics:
- Prepare and present regular reports on transportation activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with logistics software, shipment tracking systems, and MS Office Suite.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Working Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
