What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Laborer 1/ Part-time position at Round Lake Area Park District?
The Round Lake Area Park District is hiring a part-time Parks Laborer I team member. We need a hard worker to join our team. We are looking for someone who will work diligently to help maintain our parks.
A qualified candidate will have three years in a related field, a valid driver's license and safety toe boots on their first day of employment. Must be able to take direction from co-workers and be willing to take the initiative to get things done.
Work is performed at a moderate and constant pace. You may work alone or with additional staff.
Each day holds different challenges. Spring and summer essential duties include turf maintenance, mowing, fertilizing, and seeding. Winter duties include snow removal using a truck driven snowplow and/or walk behind snow blower. Trash collection and graffiti removal as needed.
Additionally, you will monitor weekend pavilion rentals at our parks.
We take great pride in our playgrounds. Your day may also include repairing and painting park and playground equipment or marking lines on sports fields.
This position participates in IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund), and receives paid time off and holiday pay.
The normal work week for this position is 7 am-3:30 pm:
Week 1: Friday through Sunday (24 hours).
Week 2 Friday – Monday (32 hours)
For a maximum of 1500 hours per year.
