Summary: The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Food and Beverage Department’s purchasing activities, and any other purchasing related assignments, ensuring that there are always the necessary materials and supplies to meet our operational needs.

Essential Functions

· Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases

· Create and maintain relationships with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials

· Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels

· Understand lead times and constraints that could negatively impact inventory flow

· Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs

· Keep accurate records of all purchasing activities

· Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders or deliveries

· Work closely with department leaders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements

· Prepare and process purchase orders and track shipments to ensure timely delivery

· Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to management

· Other duties as assigned by management

Education/Minimum Requirements

· 5 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Strong negotiating and communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing software

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment

· Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards

· Strong organizational and record keeping skills

· Skilled multitasker and can manage various tasks at the same time

· Effective problem solving and continuous improvement skills

Working Conditions

· Extensive client contact and team member interaction

· Computer usage is required (up to 50% of time)

· Fast paced working environment requires overseeing different locations for material and supplies

· Occasional environmental exposure to cold, heat, rain and other weather conditions

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more regularly

· Reading, speaking and listening continuously

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
