What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Technician position at Royal Ridge Fruits?
Position Summary:
Sanitation Tech will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment, floors, railings, totes, floors, etc. in their assigned work areas. This position will be required to accurately complete daily checklists and report findings to their supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall cleaning of the processing equipment, conveyors systems, pit removers, floors, according to established procedures and standards and for the overall cleanliness of the entire production facility.
- Disassembles, sanitizes machines, processing equipment, and other equipment as required and reassembles all equipment and machinery for production runs.
- Empty all trash, and product waste containers when necessary
- Follow all company policies and procedures as well as the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Follow company guidelines regarding occupational safety including wearing appropriate PPE and following LOTO.
- Report any unsafe or hazards work condition or concerns to plant supervision
- Participate in plant meetings or training
- Work in hot and wet processing areas.
- Maintain neat/clean/safe work area to prevent injury or product contamination
- Accomplishes all tasks as assigned or requested.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Ability to learn, understands, and consistently follows sanitation procedures and methods
- Basic understanding of cleaning practices, cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, and cleaning tools
- Basic understanding of assembly/disassembly of equipment and machinery
- Must have schedule flexibility and be available for overtime, night and weekends
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
