Summary:
Seeks an experienced Deputy Program Manager to lead Public Affairs and Strategic Communications for the Department of the Army’s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA). This role oversees communication strategy, outreach, and messaging to ensure transparency and public trust in the Army’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead contractor support for Army-wide communication initiatives, crisis communication, and outreach programs.
- Media & Public Engagement: Manage media relations, stakeholder engagements, and monitor public opinion to shape communication strategies.
- Communication Planning: Develop long-term public affairs strategies, align messaging with Army goals, and guide high-stakes communications.
- Team Management: Lead a team of personnel and subcontractors, oversee project execution, and provide performance feedback.
- Content Review: Approve and guide public-facing content to ensure alignment with Army messaging.
- Crisis Support: Provide 24/7 counsel on public affairs and crisis communication when needed.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 15 years of professional experience, including 5 years at a strategic level.
- Skills: Strong leadership, media relations, public affairs, and crisis communication expertise.
- Additional: U.S. citizenship required. Familiarity with Army operations preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
