Position Summary
RSI is recruiting for a Graduate Intern- Groundwater and Geochemistry Group who will assist a variety of Groundwater and Geochemistry Group (GGG) staff, as needed. This could include Python scripting to pull information from databases, 3D visualization modeling, analysis of hydraulic data, remote sensing data analyses, and other hydrogeologic processing needs as input into groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling. Additional work may include assistance in the Environmental Sciences Laboratory (ESL) with running columns for geochemical analysis and/or field work, if needed.

Hiring Range: $25-28 per hour
This position is required to travel 0-25% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing Python scripts to pull database information for use in compliance reports, information for geochemical conceptual models, and information for groundwater modeling input.
- Learn and assist other GGG staff with 3D visualization using EVS.
- Learn and assist with processing and analyzing remote sensing data.
- Learn and assist GGG with assembling, organizing, and analyzing hydrogeologic data for future input into site groundwater flow and transport models.
- Assist with column setup and analyses at the ESL.
- Assist with field work if/when the need arises.

Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience
- Undergraduate degree in science (Geology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, or related field. At least one year in a master’s degree program in hydrogeology

Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
Required Skills and Abilities
- Microsoft office including but not limited to Excel and Word.
- Experience with Python programming.

Essential Physical Requirements
Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
