Computer-Based Learning Instructor at Ruidoso High School

Position Summary:
|
Ruidoso High School is seeking a qualified teacher to facilitate computer based learning in technology-related coursework, including APEX credit recovery and dual credit offerings. The ideal candidate is committed to student success, technologically proficient, organized and willing to collaborate in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Current New Mexico Public Education Department secondary teaching license or the ability to obtain proper licensure within 90 days of hire
- Successful experience teaching secondary students
- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS)
- Proficient in educational technology and instructional software
- Strong reading, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a professional setting

Responsibilities:
|
- Facilitate APEX, credit recovery, and dual credit computer-based courses
- Develop a monitoring system to ensure student successful progress and course completion in APEX and dual credit courses
- Provide standards-based instruction aligned with district and site goals
- Deliver developmentally appropriate, engaging lessons in computer literacy and digital applications
- Collaborate with special education staff to implement accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs, as appropriate
- Organize a classroom environment that promotes learning and ensures student safety
- Maintain student records for performance, attendance, and academic progress
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning and the overall school environment.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and Professional Learning Teams.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities, including school events such as assemblies and civic engagement opportunities.
- Incorporate innovative instructional methods and up-to-date technology tools into instruction
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
|
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials, supplies, or equipment up to 35 pounds
- Daily physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, speaking, hearing, and visual monitoring
- Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and other digital tools
- Supervision of students in various settings, including outdoor and active environments
