The Rumney Police Department is currently accepting applications for a dedicated/responsible individual to fulfill the full-time police officer position. Entry level available/ preferred currently certified. Pay based upon qualifications. The individual seeking this position will be sworn to protect the residents and individuals and their properties, while working at preventing crime and establishing a safe, positive community.
About the Town of Rumney
The Rumney Police Department serves a community of just under 2000 residents year-round, with this number fluctuating between 2200 – 2600 throughout the spring/summer/fall seasons. The town, at 42.6 square miles in size sits at the southern edge of the White Mountains, protected by a large approximate size of 50% national forest including 51ish miles of road.
Many individuals come to Rumney for vacation and second homes, Stinson Lake, numerous campgrounds, hiking trails, floating the baker river, polar caves attraction park, infamous rock-climbing cliffs, and or just passing through the very busy corridor of Route 25. This being a connecting way from the northern half of Vermont/ NH and or Canada unto the southern area of Maine and Boston.
Rumney borders Plymouth, which having regional education including a university, medical facilities, and many shopping areas as well as Interstate 93 passing through.
Responsibilities
The police officer shall be responsible for the enforcement of the applicable laws of the State of New Hampshire and applicable ordinances of the Town of Rumney. He/She shall patrol the Town of Rumney, regulate traffic, investigate, and report criminal acts when discovered, investigate accidents, and file appropriate reports as prescribed by Departmental Rules, Regulations, Procedures, and/or superior officers. He/She shall also be responsible for other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
United States Citizen
High school graduate, at least 21 years of age by appointment, drivers license, ability to obtain certification from New Hampshire Police Standards Training
Preferred ~ Currently certified, additional education including law/CJ and or Military experience.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
