The National Rural Health Research Center seeks an accomplished and visionary Program Director to lead our dynamic team in the planning, implementation, and management of the Rural Hospital Stabilization Program (RHSP). The ideal candidate will bring an abundance of rural health experience, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of success in program development, management, and implementation with a passion for making a difference in rural health.
RHSP is new program launched in October 2024 funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, and administered by the National Rural Health Resource Center. RHSP helps rural hospitals across the country improve their financial stability by enhancing or expanding health care services that meet community needs and keep care close to home. The RHSP PD is an accomplished and skilled leader and experienced rural health professional. Responsibilities include program budget development, reporting, site selection, Technical Assistance (TA). Position includes contracting for project activities, identification of subcontracting partners.
The Program Director will:
- Provide oversight of planning, development, and execution of Program work plans with measurable objectives and deliverables across the Program goal areas, and coordinate provision of services among RHSP Teams to maximize resources to selected hospitals
- Lead the RHSP Team with fulfilling RHSP purpose and program goals
- Provide oversight of Program budget, reporting, federal responses, and proposals
- Direct planning, development, and execution of new RHSP Program TA services and program improvements
- Oversee and participate in Program communications to promote benefits of participation (requires frequent travel)
- Provide oversight of RHSP TA contracts to ensure provision of services fulfil program purpose and goals.
- Oversee program eligibility, application, and selection processes.
- Support Center leadership team in fulfilling strategic initiatives.
