Responsibilities- Indianapolis specific
Materials :
Enter all discrepancies (scrap, returns, cycle counts, etc.) into inventory system and maintain records.
Perform cycle counts as required.
Monitor inventory levels by running required reports for each shift to validate appropriate levels.
Communicate all supply issues to suppliers.
Inform Material Planner or designee and appropriate management in a timely manner of all supply risks.
Enter receipts as directed.
Assist in all plant inventory activities.
Follow visual min / max procedure.
Communicate min violations as required to customer and Material Planner or designee.
Pull inventory as required (product requests, build outs, etc)
Administer all inbound / outbound expedite activity, as required.
Follow shop floor engineering change procedure
Drive / operate fork truck, tugger and / or cherry picker in a fast-paced warehousing and shipping environment.
Organize & stock material to meet warehousing requirements and inventory control in a timely manner.
Utilize electronic interface equipment to pick and store material as needed.
Meet timing requirements for efficient processing of materials to achieve expectations
Store all material in proper locations
Maintain height standards for storage of materials
Sort and process dunnage for efficient storage and return to supply base.
Accurately count and record dunnage received and shipped
Maintain storage standards for height and location
Organize and maintain general storage areas
Ensure all material is stacked in a stable manor
Report all container degradation to supervisor or management
Maintain safe and clear access to all doorways and foot traffic areas.
Adheres to all safety rules
Wear all required Personal Protection Equipment.
Adhere to all safety standards for dock safety
Practice safe driving practices to maintain visibility
Adhere to safe practices while stacking and unstacking to avoid spills’
Observe and report maintenance issues on powered industrial trucks,
Perform pre-operations check lists and report findings on proper forms.
Support plant wide material organization and housekeeping goals.
Adhere to FIFO guidelines to ensure proper rotation of all material
Participate in plant inventories and material reorganization activity, as required.
Maintain powered industrial truck certification, and attend update training, as needed.
Remove cardboard to the bailer area.
Bail cardboard and place bails in appropriate storage trailer locations and enforce recycling programs.
Operation of certain electronic equipment required (scanners, tablets, etc.)
Receiving
Ensure all supplier & customer ASN’s are entered and / or electronically loaded within specified times (Rec)
Load and review supplier ASN’s against receipts to make sure they are correct and transmitted within specified time windows. Report discrepancies to the appropriate Material Planner / designee. (Rec)
Compare supplier’s carrier against transportation routing instructions, complete Document of Excess Transportation Cost forms as necessary. (Rec)
Notify appropriate Material Planner / Coordinator when new engineering level parts are received. (Rec)
Prepare Fed Ex and UPS shipments daily (Rec)
Generates miscellaneous reports for Materials and Receiving Departments, as necessary. (Rec)
Enter packing slip information into Trans4M and attach the Bill of Ladings by end of business day. Initiate first follow up directly with suppliers on packing slip discrepancies and ASN issues. (Rec)
Receive all non-production items against assigned discrete purchase orders. Notify recipient of receipt. Communicate MRO packing slip discrepancies to the originator. (Rec)
Input DPR for shipping inaccuracies (labeling, no paperwork, no ASN, quantity discrep, late, etc.) (Rec)
Track approved shipping labels for suppliers (Rec)
Immediately report all damaged freight to the appropriate Material Planner. (Rec)
Shipping
Prepare customer shipping paperwork (bill of lading, packing slip) (Ship).
Review bank status in Clark System & advise Supervisor of critical levels according to screen (Ship)
Coordinate daily truck shipments (Ship)
Fully responsible for “sequence only” product (Ship)
Provide appropriate paperwork including dunnage loads to carrier drivers. (Ship)
Document all activities as required.
Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
Report all accidents or observed property damage to supervision immediately
Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Good written and mathematical skills.
Basic computer skills required
Good communication and team working skills.
Powered Industrial Truck Certification.
Familiar with quality specifications and documentation in an automotive environment a plus.
