Job Description:
This highly analytical role is responsible for the administration of sales compensation programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and legal compliance.
The role requires oversight of compensation plans, including incentive structures, commissions, bonuses, and sales performance data.
This individual will manage the end-to-end process of sales compensation administration, including calculating and auditing sales commissions, ensuring timely and accurate compensation payouts, and analyzing sales performance data to recommend adjustments or improvements.
Additionally, this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess compensation trends, develop recommendations, and ensure alignment with the company’s sales objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and manage sales compensation plans, including incentive structures, commissions, and bonuses for the sales team.
Conduct audits of sales compensation data on a regular cadence, ensuring data integrity, compliance with wage and hour laws, and alignment with company objectives.
Perform in-depth analysis of sales performance and compensation data to identify trends, pay disparities, and opportunities for program optimization.
Support the development and implementation of new or revised compensation strategies aimed at addressing pay compression and ensuring equity within the sales force.
Collaborate with external vendors and participate in benchmarking activities to gather market data and ensure compensation packages are competitive.
Assist in the design and implementation of compensation tools and technology to automate sales compensation tracking, reporting, and payment processes.
Develop and maintain detailed reporting to communicate compensation outcomes, sales performance, and plan effectiveness to leadership.
Ensure that sales compensation practices comply with company policies and all relevant labor laws, including wage and hour regulations.
Work cross-functionally to assess business needs and deliver compensation solutions that enhance sales performance.
Provide regular training and guidance to managers and the sales team on compensation plans, pay structures, and incentive programs.
Participate in special projects as required, including system enhancements, compensation reviews, and process improvements.
Required Experience
Minimum of 3 years in compensation, with a strong focus on sales compensation administration.
Proven experience in developing and administering sales compensation programs, including incentive structures and commissions.
Experience analyzing and reporting on sales compensation data to support business decisions.
Strong understanding of compensation best practices, wage and hour laws, and relevant compliance standards.
Familiarity with sales performance metrics and how they tie into compensation planning and business goals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across various levels and functions.
Ability to work collaboratively across HR, Sales, Finance, and other teams to align compensation practices with business strategy.

Formal Education, Qualifications, or Training
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
3 years of experience in compensation, with a focus on sales compensation.
Certification in compensation or related fields (e.g., CCP, CPP) preferred.
Experience with compensation systems and tools (e.g., Workday, SAP, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for advanced data analysis.
Familiarity with sales data analytics and performance metrics.
Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or integration projects is a plus.
