Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety regulations are followed.
- Handle food items safely, adhering to proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination.
- Support the cooking staff during service by preparing items quickly and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing supplies properly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely preparation of meals for catering events or restaurant service.
- Participate in training sessions related to food safety and kitchen best practices as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in food service or catering settings.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations within the food industry.
