Barstow is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and collaborative, full-time music/band teacher to fill a vacancy beginning in the 25-26 school year. The teacher will work with students in a variety of formats, including general music classes, middle school band and choral ensembles, and private instrumental lessons. We encourage candidates with a variety of backgrounds, including those outside of traditional education, to apply for this role.Essential Functions: Support and expand a successful music programDevelop strategies for increasing participation in the music program in partnership with school administrationDevelop meaningful relationships and a positive climate with students in the classroom, in the broader music program, and as an advisor to a group of studentsImplement lessons and units aligned to the National Core Arts StandardsUtilize strong communication and publicity skills to be an advocate for the arts in our communityWorking knowledge or a willingness to learn and apply the Danielson model for professional practice in education.
