Education Requirement:
Technical (2-year) degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and
Experience Requirement:
four (4) years to seven (7) years related experience.
Licenses/ Certifications:
Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) is preferred.
Position Description:
Surveyor - Performs survey projects of various types and complexity, typically located in areas with little or no existing survey history. Utilizes methods and techniques consistent with good surveying practices resulting in an accuracy level that meets or exceeds the accuracy specified in the design documents. Prepares and maintains complete and accurate field survey notes, including numerical calculations and clear, neat sketches to provide a record of the survey party’s activities. Completes calculations and technical interpretations as needed to complete assigned projects. Uses the appropriate surveying instruments and equipment best suited for the job. Provides the proper care, maintenance, checking, adjusting, and repair of surveying instruments and equipment. Provides measurements and data to support the preparation of as-built drawings. May provide task level guidance to less experienced personnel. Coordinates survey activities with other functional areas and project management.
Statement of Work Summary:
GIS MAPPING & SURVEYING: This discipline shall accomplish surveys and translate collected GPS data into AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 for each survey or project. This discipline shall ensure that GIS data is available to initial design projects and confirms GIS data for projects entering final design. This discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed. This discipline shall be responsible for accurately accounting and validating air field obstructions annually.
Please note this position must be US National with Existing Secret Clearance or National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is preferred. Ability to obtain NACI or Secret Clearance is required for all personnel without Active Clearance or NACI record.
