What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at RWJBarnabas Health?
Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups (including geriatrics, and adults).
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Proficient in use of Pharmacy computer and other departmental software
Preferred:
- Prior pharmacy experience
- Associates degree
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, 9-5:30pm
- Per Diem
Essential Functions:
- Delivers medication
- Returns discharged medications to the pharmacy
- Fills PYXIS machines
