We have a client in the Denver area that needs an Interim VP of Accounting and Finance for portfolio company, URGENT NEED! The client is looking to move fast on a hire.
The most important tasks at hand are completing company audits (1 due 5/28/25; the other 6/27/25) and assisting with a debt refinancing project ( debt facility matures 6/8/25).
We’re looking for a candidate who can commit to at least a 90-day project, the position would sit onsite in the Denver area

Position Overview
- The Vice President of Accounting & Finance will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial activities for the company. This includes collaborative management for accounting, treasury management, strategic planning, annual business plans, forecasting, performance management, costing, audit and tax processes, and contract/legal agreements.
- Specifically, the VP of Accounting & Finance will be responsible for:
- Providing day-to-day and strategic leadership for the accounting and finance functions, coordinating activities in a manner consistent with the company’s values, strategic objectives, and operating principles
- Attracting, developing, and managing a high-performance and high-potential team, including an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable Specialist, and Accounts Payable Specialist
- Building long-term strategic plans, annual capital/operating plans and budgets
- Creating and institutionalizing KPI’s and providing detailed, accurate, and timely accounting in a clear and actionable manner
- Assessing current accounting operations and talent, offering recommendations for improvements, and implementing new processes
- As franchisor, tracking and managing all royalty collections, vendor agreements, etc.
- Leading the annual budgeting process, including collaborating with other departments to thoughtfully allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and execute on operational plans
- Delivering and presenting timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows) to the Sponsor / Board of Directors
- Managing all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including bank account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on-time
- Assembling information and serving as the point of contact during audits (annual external audit preparation and oversight, workers comp, sales tax) in collaboration with E&Y
Need a candidate with :
- A minimum of eight years of progressive career growth, grounded in GAAP accounting, ideally in a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail business
- Experience and working knowledge across the entire spectrum of accounting and finance, including financial planning, and modeling, accounting, audit, compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and related technology systems
- Strong operational finance and business analysis skills, including experience with and capability to manage and improve restaurant P&Ls
- Fluency working with excel to create spreadsheets and models
