Job Description: Home Health Aide/Homemaker
Position Title: Home Health Aide (HHA) / Homemaker
Reports To: Supervisory Nurse / Agency Administrator
Job Summary:
The Home Health Aide (HHA) / Homemaker provides non-medical personal care and
homemaking services to clients in their homes, ensuring their well-being, comfort,
and independence while complying with Medicaid and agency guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:
o Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, skin care, and
toileting.
o Help with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
o Monitor client condition and report changes to the nurse.
Homemaker Services:
o Perform light housekeeping (laundry, bed making, cleaning).
o Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if required.
o Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and appointment reminders.
Documentation & Compliance:
o Accurately record services provided on daily task sheets.
o Log visits in the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system.
o Follow Medicaid and agency policies regarding service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
Certification:
o State-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program OR
o STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) certification (if required)
Experience:
o At least 1 Year of caregiving experience preferred
o Prior experience in home health care, personal care, or homemaker
services
Skills & Abilities:
o Ability to follow a care plan and document services accurately
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
Background Check & Compliance:
o Must pass FBI/BCI background check
o Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
o Must comply with EVV requirements and agency policies
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.62 - $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 8 per week
