RMX Plant Mechanic

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Perform plant and equipment welding, maintenance, repairs, and new construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Plant Mechanic

Clamping, holding, tack-welding, bending, bolting, or grinding parts as necessary to satisfy requirements.

• Igniting flame or striking an arc while welding or performing other electricity related work to weld part of a metal structure.
• Arranging and assuring the welded parts to be arranged in order before being assembled into final products.
• Using tools such as a welder, grinder, torch, tape measure, square, wrenches, hammers, mauls, etc.
• Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheating, distortion, expansion or shrink of parts.
• Operate and inspect machines, plants, or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Understand and control gases and welding devices to ensure safe practices.
• Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
• Inspect, repair, and perform maintenance on aggregate equipment.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
• Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers, including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
• Must have regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old.

Other:

• Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving history.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years' working experience.
• Must have ability to work on and maintain aggregate equipment.

Heavy Physical Demands:

Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (up to 47 pounds).

Physical Activity:

Position requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
