POSITION SUMMARY:
The junior accountant is responsible for financial reporting for multiple entities to ensure accurate, continuous and timely flow of data by applying generally accepted accounting principles. This will include analysis, maintenance, reconciliation and verification of financial records and information required to generate corporate financial reports all while utilizing established standards of practice set forth by the Administrative and Financial Policies and Procedures. The junior accountant is supervised by a senior accountant and the accounting manager.
Education/Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in accounting/finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Must be able to work efficiently and meet required deadlines
Must be detail oriented and organized
Must be a go getter and have the ability to work independently
Must be able to collaborate and work well with a team
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations by posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies, related to banking, intercompany accounting, other assets, receivables, payables, accruals, and revenue and expenses.
Support nursing community staff with questions and issues concerning their financial statements.
Must be able to work at the Beachwood location. (NOT A REMOTE POSITION)
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year related experience preferred.
Previous experience in long term care preferred but not required.
